Babyfest 2011

On Saturday we hosted a few families from my Mom's group for a backyard get together. Here are a few photos from the afternoon - for more on the day check this out. (and make sure you carve some time out of your schedule, there are a few to go through...I just can't resist, sorry!)

We used to try to get them to all look at the camera, but now we settle for them sitting (almost still) in the same general vicinity. Annabel was looking particularly Bieber-ish that afternoon.

The suprise hit of the afternoon was certainly the upside down blow-up pool...Quinn discovered it and it was declared the hip place to hang out. All the babies wanted in.

Abigail June Murray

Hooray! Annabel got a new cousin yesterday...Abigail June. I think the drought of girls on the Murray side of the family is officially over. She and Annabel share quite a bit already - both weighed in at 7lbs. 1 oz., were born at 8:18 PST (Abigail was born at 11:18 EST), and each arrived with a full head of hair.

Congrats to Mark and Sara! We're excited to meet her...see you in two weeks!

Reading is "Fun-damental"

Reading is "fun-damental" (yep, straight out of the Matthew Murray quote book), as is insisting that all the books be pulled off the shelf onto the floor. Several times a day.

Puppy Love

Our friends Randy & Kelly came for visit with their dog Cooper from Boulder, CO this weekend. During our cross-country trip from Boston we stayed with them and enjoyed our time so much we considered unpacking our bags in their extra bedroom. But as much as they wanted new roommates, we piled back into our cars and kept motoring to CA. So we have been delighted that we get to enjoy their company here in the Bay Area...albiet this time there was a lot less going out at night and a lot more chilling out during the day.

We did get to hike around Windy Hill, BBQ in the backyard and tonight Matt is off checking out Eddie Vedder's ukalale (spelling?) show with them.

While we have enjoyed the adult company, Annabel has been really into the canine company. Cooper is a sweet hound who has put up with her constant attention and affection. Both "kids" have been very good with each other. Annabel has been gentle with him, but sometimes "enthusiastically" gentle. Lucky for him, he's short haired.

Apparently nothing amuses her more than dogs - she just cannot get enough of them. Unfortunately, they may get more than their fair share of her...

Crissy Fields Beach

The good times & good weather continued 4th of July weekend - we headed up to SF to the beach with our friends Ben, Melissa & their kids.

Annabel didn't shy away from the sand and only took a couple (unintentional) mouthfuls. Even then, she didn't complain as she was just so delighted to be there.

Here's the gang, except the 3 year old, who was too busy making made fast friends with a neighborning blanket and running to and from the water. Their 2 month old was snuggled up and so good the entire time.

We enjoyed perfect weather this 4th of July weekend which allowed us to enjoy every second of it. We kicked it off with a trip to the pool with Grandma and Grandpa.
