Hair Cut

Annabel's locks have been looking a bit ragged lately so while we were a bit reluctant to cut her hair, we went in for her first "real" hair cut (at a "salon", not at home).  It was just a trim but all her real blond bits are gone...but that's nothing a few days in the sun can't fix.

After admiring the work, Annabel said she liked it and thanked her hair stylist.

Did mommy hit you?

Paraphrased version of a conversation between Matt and Annabel tonight:

Annabel to Matt: do you have an ouchie?
Matt: I have a small boo boo, but it's okay.
A: I kiss the ouchie.
M: okay, thanks. It feels better.
A: Did Mommy hit you?
M: uhhhhhh...

For the record, the answer is 'no'! But it's good to see what she thinks of me...

(please don't call social services after reading this.)

RIP Montreal Steak Seasoning

I wondered why it was so quiet in the living room...she was busy seasoning our carpet.  Need taller countertops where little hands can't reach.

Happy birthday Beckett!

What a terrific birthday party for Beckett, who turned two!

Helping around the house

(Just pretend like she's wearing clothes...everything's totally normal over here.)

Chopsticks

First time attempting chopsticks (we were using them so she wanted to as well, of course). Looks like she got the hang of these already...must be the quarter japanese!

(just kidding! She can't really use them properly, but these pictures make it look pretty good.)

Halloween!

Our neighborhood was Halloween crazy again and the city actually blocked off the nearest cross street there are so many trick or treaters.  The decorations were terrific again this year - people really go all out!

Annabel was a raccoon for Halloween and we went out and did a bit of trick or treating, mostly stopping at the homes of those neighbors we know to say 'hi'.  They were all excited to see Annabel in her costume which was really cute.   Mostly we walked around and checked out all the lights, costumes and horrific scenes people erect on their front lawns for the holiday.  Annabel's favorite was a giant animated rat eating a partially decomposed human torso...gruesome, right?
