38 weeks

Tomorrow marks my 39th week but I had this photo from last weekend. Saturday, May 25th marked me and Matt's 5 year wedding anniversary AND it was a full moon that night AND it was a holiday weekend (Annabel was born on Labor Day)...all of which I was convinced would add up to me landing in the labor and delivery ward. But no, I'm still sitting on my sofa about a week later.

So as a friend pointed out to me tonight, we're having a June baby!

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day weekend we stuck pretty close to home for a chill weekend, trying to stay off my feet a bit.  But we did venture out to meet baby Hudson, Lyndsey's newest edition.  While we moms oogled over baby, Annabel and Beckett played together. Given how goo-goo Annabel used to get over babies I thought she'd be more into Hudson, and while she wandered over a few times, she was busy elsewhere.  She seems to understand the reality of what's to come and the luster has worn off a bit.

Lyndsey looks amazing, of course, despite having a newborn (5 days old at this point), a crazy birth experience, and a house full of boys.  I'll be summoning her patience and togetherness in the coming weeks.  Of course I won't achieve it but she's a wonderful role model.

On Memorial Day we played with our friends Melissa and Ben and their kids.  Later that evening our friends the Willises had us over for a BBQ.  Quinn and Annabel played like crazy and using each other as bait were able to finish off a good dinner. They were rewarded with dessert, bath and a show in their pajamas.

A Look Inside Dance Class - A Few Videos

Just catching up on my iPhone videos...here's a little look inside dance class. The camera work is terrible but it's hard to get all our darling dancers in the screen. Thank goodness for Teacher Nicole who puts up with our crew.

Big sister may not be ready

After my friend had her little baby boy today Annabel and I talked a bit about our own baby coming into our home.

Lisa: The baby is kicking in there. Do you want it to come out so we can meet it?

Annabel: {silence}

L: Or do you want it to stay in there?

A: Stay in there.

Potty Success (stop reading if you don't care for the terms 'poop' and 'potty')

Potty training 3 weeks before my due date? Why not? Oh right.

Annabel suddenly showed interest in using the potty after months of disinterest (and her specifically asking if she could poop in her diaper, not on the potty). We were surprised, but felt like we had to support her. So we dusted off the Prize Bag I had put together when we first thought she might be ready for potty training and introduced the positive reward system.

And that's when she fell in love with a pair of slippers in the bag... After locking eyes with them she became a very determined toddler. She sat on the potty for over an hour until she finally went for them. I've never seen her sit anywhere for an hour. Not even in front of the TV or iPad. And she like both of those things a lot.

So, she's only gone once more since that time but hey, at least we know it's possible when she decides she's really ready.

Jess & Lynd's Birthday at Concannon

It was hot and steamy in the east bay this weekend but we had a really wonderful picnic at Concannon Winery in Livermore to celebrate Lyndsey and Jessica's birthdays.

Kentucky Derby Themed Sprinkle

On Saturday my mom's group gathered for a wonderful sprinkle.  The event coincided with the Kentucky Derby so everybody unearthed their big hats and enjoyed a few (virgin) mint juleps.

Let the games begin...

 Alison (Quinn's Mom) and I.

All the soon-to-be moms - Alison and Evan are due in August.

The delicious fare.

It's difficult to get everyone in a photo with the big hats!

And to finish things off everyone went home with these adorable derby cupcakes.

Thank you to Alison and Bianca for letting me share their pictures with you!

Brunch with the Girls

To celebrate the new little ones joining the club the girls got together for the loveliest brunch. Lyndsey will be welcoming a little boy at the end of May and I'll follow quickly thereafter. Our due dates are only 2 weeks apart so our kiddos will hopefully be good playmates.
