She was "won" at the Foster City CityFest carnival - or given to us by a generous carnival worker. We're not sure which one. Their smiles were HUGE when we agreed to take the fish home - it's not kitten but at least it was something!

Last time to be the classroom Shamash
At Josie's school each student gets to be the 'Shamash', which is a coveted role in the classroom, as the "helper". They do the weather, calendar, lead the line, and much more. Since we won't continue at PJCC next year this was Josie's last day as Shamash.

Annabel's Cooking Class
A super fun cooking class has come to George Hall - Josie took this class at PJCC and Annabel has been really interested in it so it was wonderful to be able to enroll her. When I picked her up after the first class things like, "I don't even like vegetables but I like this" were overheard! This week they made a chicken skillet wild rice. She didn't share.
Pandas Go To Isreal
The Pandas went on a plane to visit Isreal this past week in celebration of its 70th Birthday and did a ton of really great activities at school.

Chuck E Cheese
Annabel had her first Chuck E Cheese experience (thanks again Alison)! And it made her day - probably even month. Look at this face!
A Day of Goodbyes
Yesterday we said goodbye to Josie's daycare in Belmont because she will start preschool when we return from our trip and goodbye to Annabel's lifelong friend Jaiden who is moving to be closer to family. Luckily we already have a date to see Jaiden in her new home but our friends will be dearly missed.

This week...
This week is all about getting Annabel from one place to the next, ideally on time. Annabel is doing both an art class and a swim class, punctuated with her regular and make-up gymnastics classes. The art class is for fun at a local place in San Mateo and we did an intensive, daily swim class (for 2 weeks) in preparation for our trip. It was really important to us to feel like she was a strong enough swimmer that we could trust her in the pool since we must have at least a pair of eyes on Josie. Obviously she won't be swimming alone but she can swim the length of the pool if need be. And after some hard work she passed the class - freestyle with side breathing and back stroke - and is ready to move on to new strokes!
Josie has been a trooper being shuffled from one activity to the next. She's gotten to spend a lot of time in the pool too during lessons and is finally putting her head underwater voluntarily, which is a big leap from where she was at the conclusion of her last swim class. It's not hard to drive from one activity to the next, but for some reason I'm exhausted.

Cheeky Tiki - Stag Wkd for Katie and Dean
Matt and I celebrated Katie and Dean's upcoming nuptials in Montecito this weekend while my parents generously agreed to watch the the girls while we played with our friends. The boys headed out to sea on Saturday while the girls stayed back at the house for Hula dancing lessons and other bachelorette-like shinanigans. It was a Cheeky Tiki weekend for sure!
