The things we do for fun (and we're not sure why)

The children of an elderly neighbor who recently passed away (at a few days shy of 101! living on his own!) gave us this dresser when I mentioned that I liked it. I told them I could give it some love and they wanted to give it to someone who would enjoy it in their home.

The bones were there but the finish was less than desirable.

So we stripped it...

And applied a dark walnut Danish Oil treatment...

And we ended up with this. 

It was surprisingly easy. And doesn't it look lovely next to a play kitchen? (the picture's not great - taken at night.)

I'm not sure what we'll do with it, it doesn't necessarily match our other furniture, but I loved the look of the piece and it's nice to bring something back to life. 

Curiodessey

Annabel has always enjoyed curiodessey, but today Josie really got to enjoy it as well. She loved the hands on exhibits inside and the aviary. All birds sound like chickens ("bock, bock, bock"), even the roadrunner and burrowing owls. She even spotted some of the animals before I did!

Sisters

Now that Josie is older and more capable, these two can do more with each other (and more TO each other). They've shared a few very touching moments. I've edited out the moments of screaming, crying, grabbing, and fussing to bring you these little nuggets. 

Tomatoes are in!

And we have a tomato thief amongst us.

Gymnastics for Josie

Yay, Josie finally gets to participate in an activity! And she loves kinder gym at Burgess with me while big sister is in the older kids class on her own. So much to climb, jump on, slide down...and she can seriously rock this outfit from aunt Carly.
