Easter Egg Hunt with the Mom's Group

Another wonderful tradition among our mom's group is our annual Easter egg hunt. We headed to Holbrook-Palmer for this year's shindig and had a wonderful afternoon and evening. This group is getting bigger and bigger!

Boston Bachelorette

I returned yesterday from an amazing trip back to Boston for Erica's bachelorette weekend. It was the best and as Matt said, it came at a good time because I was feeling burnt out with the girls and had just wrapped up my Stanford gig the week before. I hadn't been back to Boston since the summer of 2011! It had been way too long.

I took a red eye to maximize my time there and on Friday I had the chance to catch up with close friends from Babson.

Look at this cutie!

And caught up over a long dinner at Alden and Harlow in Harvard Sq, one of the many wonderful restaurants that have popped up since we left. Harvard square looked the same, but there has certainly been turnover in a few areas (they have a Shake Shack now!).

The South End, where Matt and I lived prior to moving to CA, hasn't changed much, but it was already ultra hip and gentrified!

Southie is changing a ton, and you can see it roll from the waterfront down Broadway. There were clothing boutiques! A frozen yogurt shop! Trendy dining places!

On Saturday morning we headed down to Scituate for the festivities. Bachelorettes for us these days involve more yoga pants than high heels so we headed to the nail salon and then a masseuse visited the house for treatments.

The guest of honor and hostess. (We can't wait to meet the newest addition to the urban family at the wedding!!)

We celebrated Erica's upcoming nuptials with over 20 friends - it was so amazing to see old friends, meet Dave and some of his family!

Thank you Matt for watching the girls so I could take part in this wonderful weekend.

(Did I mention it snowed in Saturday? Bostonians were not pleased but I felt like I took part in Snowmagedon. Good thing I was back in flip flops today.)

Father's Day Comes a Early at Playschool

Annabel's school celebrates Father's Day before the end of school since it occurs during the summer. They do an activity with the dads constructing sculptures out of wood pieces on a special Friday. And they present them with a look at how the kids see their fathers.

Some of these are true and some aren't...

Josie's First Trip to the Dentist

Josie's first trip to see Dr. Ponce was a success, no crying but no cleaning either. She had her first exam and was happy enough to watch Frozen on the TV above the exam chair.

While I was managing Josie, Annabel handled her exam and cleaning all by herself. The hygienist was very impressed  with how cooperative she was, even taking X-rays without fuss or anxiety. A small cavity was discovered so we will be flossing very regularly!

Pacifier and/or Thumb

I used to think that kids chose either the pacifier OR the thumb (or neither, like Annabel). But in the absence of her pacifier, Josie has found her thumb. And she's getting pretty cheeky about it. Ugh.

Four and a Half

Annabel is now officially four and a half, which is (apparently) pretty significant to the under 5 community. We celebrated her "birthday" with giant donuts, sunshine and Frozen.

Another Morning of Play #tbt

Here's a #tbt (throw back Thursday). Another morning with "friends".  We have to appreciate those moments when the girls work and play together well. Moments may not last long but they can be delightful.

Sometimes when they look at each other I am reminded that J simply adores A, and that A does find her sister more fun than nuisance.
